Smile and say "Fish": Funny, but when I was the editor of the Destin Log back in 1986, I never dreamed I'd be posing in front of a board full of fish with nails through their eyeballs in 2000. We used to run several of these photos in every issue. Our catch on this trip is a mix of grouper and triggerfish. We also caught several red snapper, but they were out of season so we had to throw them back. We also tried for amberjack but didn't have much luck. In all, the fish probably cost us about $50/pound, but it was worth every cent. Considering January is not the best time to go on a fishing excursion off Destin, we did OK.
